Azaadville United FC beat Azd United CC by 16 runs in an epic encounter this past Saturday.. The date was set as a pre-soccer season matchup and to get the team together before the season starts.. Azd FC won the toss and elected to bat.. MA Tilly and E Mia (byron) got them off to a steady start and were coasting at 6 to 7 an over.. This was before the 2 star batsmen on the night Moe Cassim and Faheem Ahmed sent the seasoned Azd CC bowlers to all corners of the park.. Mo Bhayat hit a flurry in the final overs to setup a competitve 170 runs in the allotted 25 overs.. The Cricket Club got off to a steady start with Ziyaad “kapil dev” Bhorat leading the line.. However wickets started falling including 3 in one over and that left a huge task for Gauteng talent Zain Nanabhay and league captain Shaahid Kotwal.. The latter eventually falling to a brilliant ball setting up Sal Nagdee (Salinga) to wrap up the final wicket and claiming a historic win for the Football Club (the word football club shud be said in a kenny daglish accent) The pictures below say it all !!!
